Sticker Marketing for Gyms

In this digital world, it’s easy to lose track of the easy on site marketing tactics that can help you grow your business. One low cost technique you can always explore for your club is “stickers.” This may seem very simplistic, but with a roll of stickers, customers can put them on their laptops, water bottles, & even on their cars. Recently, we even made some test window decal stickers for clubs to put on their store window fronts to educate them about 3D Body scanning.

We are not going to pretend that running a guerrilla marketing campaign with stickers is going to help you double your membership rates. However, it can help in several other ways:

General Awareness of Services:
Door stickers or even a decal on a window mirror can be an opportunity to upsell your clients on a service they didn’t know about. Include a simple call to action to tell them to “ask you about X” which can lead to a conversation.

Referrals:
Members tie fitness to part of their identity. Having a few extra stickers on a member’s favorite water bottle, labtop, or other item may start a conversation with one of their co-workers about your establishment. On some level, your members re your “second salesforce” - helping you bring in new prospects.

Identity & Branding:
Lastly, it’s good to reinforce your brand. Showing members your brand over & over again reinforces your brand to them, helping forge the relationship between you & them. It also adds to your “brand equity” overall. While it’s hard to measure this directly, having small stickers as a welcome packet, or a giant 4-foot sticker on your wall can help enhance the professionalism of your facility & create a fun atmosphere.

We ordered our last round of stickers from Sticker Mule, who has a great online proofing system, and also has great pricing. They have a good turn around time & we love to use them specifically for getting ready for trade shows in Fitness. If you’re looking for inspiration, you can do some great google searches as well or check out the many sticker marketplaces available on the net. As part of your Marketing Mix, this can be a simple & fun tool to build brand awareness. If you spend 60 bucks for 200 stickers, wouldn’t it be great to have that bring in one new member? It all ads up! Good luck.
